Hunger Heroes Food Drive
Organize a food drive at your local church
We ask that our partnering Hunger Heroes churches donate food items for the pantry. Ideally, cans of hearty soups like: ravioli, spaghetti O’s, beef stew, chicken & dumplings, and chili are great choices. Beenie weenies are always a hit, as well as cookie or brownie mixes and many other items. These donations will be used to help us serve hundreds of free warm meals every day to teens, women, and even men in our surrounding areas.
This will help us stock the Teen Pantry we have here on site as well as send food to the Senior center for seniors who struggle with food insecurity that may be rationing food because of the need to pay for medication, doctor visits, and other bills. We can also send food to Homeless ministries and Kelley’s Rainbow Domestic Violence Shelter. This will help them to save the funding they need to serve our neighbors, as well. You can also download and print the flier in your welcome email to include in your bulletin or have it as a flyer to help spread the word.
Churches often contact us asking about the possibility of sponsoring a donation drive. We always welcome and appreciate this! Please contact us before you begin a drive so we can fill you in on our most current needs and help provide any materials, flyers, logos, or whatever you need to make it a successful event.
