The Caring Heart Teen Pantry (called the BLAST Zone) was started to ensure that ALL TEENS have the food and proper personal hygiene items at home so that they can concentrate on being teens and not worry about having basic necessities. Teens can come and pick out their own food and hygiene items they need to maintain their confidence on the 1st and 3rd Saturday of each month from 9:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at the Thrift Store located at 165 Main Street, Arab, Alabama.
The items in the pantry are made possible by generous donors. We have individuals, church groups, and a couple of small businesses in our area who donate items or donate financially to ensure these teens have food at home. We go the grocery store each Friday before the Teen Pantry opens to purchase fresh fruits and veggies. We have over 220+ teens that we serve through the pantry. If you are a teenager in the 6th through 12th grades and need help, don't hesitate to reach out. We're here to provide you with judgment free help. Come to the Thrift Store one one of the days we are open for sales to complete an enrollment form (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday or Saturday). We are open from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. If you would like to donate to support the Teen Pantry, please connect using the contact form. We've listed items we typically use on this page, but if you reach out ahead of time, we'll let you know if we need particular items. If you would like to volunteer to help with the Teen Pantry, please reach out using the contact form. We typically need help getting food ready for distribution days and on the days the food is distributed. |
