The Caring Heart Legacy Center

Picture
The Caring Heart Legacy Center is located at 1204 North Main Street in Arab, Alabama, in the home formerly owned by Dorothy and Marvin Beasley, icons in the City of Arab.  When we learned the Beasley home was available following Marvin's passing, we knew it would be the ideal location for a community center we had long hoped to open. The Beasley family gave to others in the community in countless ways. They raised three daughters at "Beasley Corner" at 12th Avenue NE and Main Street, fostered more than 30 children and were active in the church. We honor the legacy of Dorothy and Marvin through our work to help people in the community, something of which we hope they would be proud. The Beasley's daughters are involved with our operation of the Legacy Center in their childhood home; one daughter is a member of our nonprofit board.

The Legacy Center is used for two purposes. It is the location of the Senior Food Pantry where food distribution is provided once a month over a three day period. It is also a community hub that provides free space to other nonprofits, churches, and agencies for workshops, training, and outreach, strengthening our entire rural community. If you are interested in using the Legacy Center for your organization, please contact us using our contact form.
